Do extinction events such as the Cretaceous-Tertiary Mass Extinction event prove the Great Chain of Being wrong?
indeed I would assume so.
Can someone explain this in detail because I have been informed my whole life that the great chain of being is true.

Answers

Answer:

Assuming your referring to the Christian "Great Chain of Being" then no.

Explanation:

(I will try to be as unbiased as possible)

Just to clarify for anyone who is uniformed on what exactly the Great Chain of Being is... it is a hierarchy chart which first surfaced in Medieval Europe which goes in order as... God, Angelic Beings, Humanity, Animals, Plants, Minerals.

In the Bible it is stated numerous times (I can find the specific page and such if needed) that "great beasts" roamed the earth... now there is no historical or scientific evidence this was referring directly to Dinosaurs but there is evidence that mass extinction events have occurred all throughout history and some are event mentioned in the bible itself (The Great Flood) It is thought that about 75% of all animal life on earth was wiped out (Also most believe that some form of Humanity was alive during the supposed asteroid strike) which means that if you are arguing that a mass extinction event would mean that Great Chain of Being or basically the existence of God then you would be wrong. (Again being unbiased here, there is also no evidence that there is a "God" or Gods)

I hope this could help, my apologies if it didn't. If you need any more elaboration I will gladly try my best to help out down in the comments

what is the importance of a family tradition

Explain what this tradition consists of and why you think it has happened in your family from generation to generation

Answers

Answer:

No matter what your family tradition is or what your family chooses to create, just having something for all family members to look forward to each year is important. Traditions help create warm, positive memories that can be recalled fondly and draw family members back to one another year after year.

Explanation:

It has been observed that cultures and traditions have been changing with every generation. In my opinion, the reason behind this is the disintegration of joint families along with a more career-oriented mindset of the recent generations. Several steps can be taken to change this.

It is a well-known fact that cultural values and traditions are passed down from grandparents to grandchildren. However, due to changing lifestyle joint families are slowly and gradually getting converted to nuclear families. This prevents the grandparents from passing down beliefs and traditions to children. As the current generation is not aware of what their family beliefs and values are, they will follow the ones that they believe are appropriate. Secondly, as families become nuclear and parents focus more on their careers they have little time to transfer their culture and traditions to their children. Children learn from the actions of their parents and hence end up acting in the same way with their children as their parents did with them. Unfortunately, this hampers the adoption of family values and traditions.

To address the situation, people should be made aware of the benefits of staying in a joint family. This can be achieved through NGO or government agencies staging roadshows or seminars that highlight the advantages. The government should also contemplate introducing additional tax benefits for people who prefer to stay in a joint family. To add to that, schools should introduce activities around culture and traditions that require greater involvement from parents. This would force the parents to contribute to the task and they would eventually end up passing down their traditions and cultures.

To conclude, to ensure that age-old traditions and cultures stay intact and are passed down from generation to generation, the government and schools should play an active role in spreading awareness about the positives of staying in a joint family along and help facilitate conversation between parents and children on topics of culture and tradition through various activities.
