Hi Cynthia,
How are you doing in this period? I believe you are coping in this period of pandemic and total lockdown. Everything will be alright in no time.
You have always told me that we should always be willing to render assistance whenever situations call for it, you said we might be saving a whole nation. This is a true saying my friend as I have a first hand experience to share. I was going home after work on a very dark night last week when I found a body lying down lifelessly near a bush path. I was dead scared and wanted to drive off but I remembered your words and became uncomfortable with the decision I made. I stopped and came down to observe the body, then I noticed it still had some life. There was nobody around to help and I managed to carry the man into the vehicle all alone and take him to a nearby hospital without minding the security and legal implications of my actions. I was very unsure that anything good could result from what I did, I thought he would still die. He was given medical attention and he survived. Miracle, right?
When he got well he introduced himself as a lawyer and he was shot by armed robbers while going to his office to get some case files. The armed robbers collected his vehicle and all other valuables on him and left him to die. In the course of the discussion, I got to know that he was the lawyer trying to help our family concerning our brother who was indicted of murder and he is the only one that has all the information required to prevent him from going to jail. I never met the man before now but my father has always talked about him and I have spoken to him once on phone. I thank God I did not jettison the spirit that insisted that I must help him.
I learnt a great the from the whole experience. If you help anyone in time of need you are not only saving a nation, you might be saving yourself. Thank you Cynthia for instilling in me that wonderful virtue, you are the best. I hope to receive an email from you soon.
Best Regards.
Read the following sentence.
If a person wants to succeed in life, you really have to work at it.
If the pronoun and antecedent in the sentence above are correct as is, write "correct" and explain the reason the pronoun choice is correct. If the sentence contains a pronoun error, rewrite the sentence to correct the error, then explain the reason the pronoun used was an error.
Answer:
If a person wants to succeed in life, he or she really has to work at it.
Explanation:
the pronoun "you" does not match up with "a person." The sentence starts out in third person and then transitions to second person, so the correction fixes this.

Also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, K2 is the second highest mountain in the world. The mountain is 28,251 feet high and it is thought to be more difficult to climb than Mount Everest. When climbers arrive at the base, they are amazed by the steep rock face of the mountain and awed by the weather. The mountain is located on the border of China and Pakistan, which is in the Karakoram part of the Himalayan mountain range. Most climbers attempt to reach the top of K2 from Pakistan, but no one has ever tried to climb the mountain in the winter. Two people from an Italian expedition team were the first to reach the top of K2: Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni. They reached the summit, or the top of the mountain, in July, 1954. [1]Nothing that comes from the desert expresses its extremes better than the unhappy growth of the
tree yuccas.Tormented, thin forests of it stalk drearily in the high mesas, particularly in that
triangular slip that fans out eastward from the meeting of the Sierras and coastwise hills. The
yucca bristles with bayonet-pointed leaves, dull green, growing shaggy with age like an old
[5] man's tangled gray beard, tipped with panicles of foul, greenish blooms. After its death, which is
slow, the ghostly hollow network of its woody skeleton, with hardly power to rot, makes even
the moonlight fearful. But it isn't always this way. Before the yucca has come to flower, while
yet its bloom is a luxurious, creamy, cone-shaped bud of the size of a small cabbage, full of
sugary sap, the Indians twist it deftly out of its fence of daggers and roast the prize for their
[10] own delectation.
Why does the author use the words "bayonet-pointed" (line 4) and "fence of daggers" (line 9) to describe the leaves of the yucca tree?

Answer and Explanation:
You are asking us to find the verbs in the paragraph.
A verb is a word that expresses an action or a state. It is part of the predicate and helps introduce the information about the subject. It agrees with the subject, that is, if the subject is plural, the verb is also plural.
Having that explanation in line, let's highlight the verbs in the paragraph
John's friends visit him and they like his house. John and his friends go to the forest and cut down more and more and more trees, to build more and more houses. Soon there are not more trees. There aren't any flowers. There are not any animals. The lake is dirty. The people are sad and thirsty. John goes to the forest." What happened?" John asks the tree. Norman repeatedly says how he *almost* won the Silver Star for valor. At first, it appears as a boast; as though he discusses how he was very close to being recognized as a hero. After we find out what happens to Kiowa, that sentence changes meaning. Is Norman actually bragging about almost winning the star, or is he trying to say something else?
Answer:
Explanation:
Norman was not actually bragging about him getting to win the silver cup of man of valor rather he was lost in his thought of how he couldn't save kiowa from death and he needed to tell someone about his story. He started rehearsing how to share it with his father by starting with the fact that he almost won the silver award for valor but couldn't get to terms that he could not save Kiowa.
The award was usually given by the military but Normans father never believe in award as the true test of one's goodness and it is one of the challenge Norman is having in relating his ordeal to his father.

Having a cart full of items, Anya let the woman buying just one thing go ahead of her in line. Having a cart full of items, the woman buying just one thing moved ahead in line.
Answer:
The first sentence makes sense; the second one doesn´t.
Explanation:
Having a cart full of items
is a subordinate clause that makes sense because it refers to the subject Anya in the principal sentence
Anya let the woman buying just one thing go ahead of her in line.
Because Anya has a cart full of items, she decides to let the woman, who is buying just one thing, go ahead of her in line.
In the second sentence the same subordinate clause doesn't coincide with the subject
the woman
