Question, is it okay to make a disorder up for a fictional story?

I have a species of creatures who are extremely aggressive but a specific character in that species was born and still is a very nice and passionate person.

I was thinking maybe making it to where they had a disorder that made them very kind (which goes against the species' behavior)

So, it is really difficult to be yourself in this world.
