It was may 2nd 1944 and my squadron and I were escorting the b-17's over west Germany. (rising action) Out of the corner of my eye I saw a Messerschmitt  262  they were moving fast but we were largely outnumbered . My captain ordered  us to stay with the b-17's and not to straggle off (climax) Boom we hear an explosion and one of the b-17's  engine caught fire we were taking fire from above our positions and finally we reached the drop zone we split up and started to attack the 262's and we took out at least 23 of them (falling action) when the bombers came back we started to escort them and when all of a sudden we received more forces from the red tails (Tuskegee airmen) and they made the 262's look like a joke when we were doe the red tails showed us there nobility and honor during ww2.
